When we began our search for a speaker for our Women’s Retreat, we had certain criteria in mind that we felt certain the Holy Spirit wanted us to incorporate into the weekend. First, we wanted to have small group sessions after the main sessions to allow the women to fellowship with ladies they previously did not know and to solidify the teaching session. Shawna provided insightful, comprehensive and thought-provoking questions that really got our ladies sharing in their small groups. Secondly, we wanted  a speaker that was biblical versus topical. We felt that it was crucial for our ladies to hear, first hand, how God’s Truth is an anchor in any situation. Shawna has had to deal with serious issues, and it was evident that her ability to not just survive in those fires, but thrive in them, was a direct result of her love of the Word and her application of the Word in her life.
